The TwoTwoFive team are an expert collective of former commodity traders.

With a combined 300 years + of trading experience under our belts…
we’ve traded physical commodities, paper, options… you name it.

THE LEADERSHIP TEAM

I have over 25 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, working in various roles in the back, mid and front office. As an Equity Crude Oil and Gas trader, I helped build a complex portfolio that traded around several embedded options.

I have extensive experience developing risk management reporting, trader exposure and profit and loss systems for various clients. I am a co-founding partner and key stakeholder in the design and development of TwoTwoFive’s simulation-based trader training programmes.

I am a Chartered Accountant and spend my free time with my wife, children, dog, and chickens. My other love is football and supporting my favourite team most weekends.

I was previously Head of Learning and Development for the BP Supply and Trading business in Singapore where I was responsible for developing the business competencies required for successful trading teams. I was also owner for the Trader graduate programme.

Prior to this, I was Head of Crude Trading for BP in Singapore for more than 11 years, which involved both physical and derivative proprietary trading, along with the commercial marketing of equity crudes and optimization of refinery feedstock supply.

I also held roles in refining and supply chain optimization and spent time working in Australia, Singapore and the UK.

OUR EXPERTS

I have over 15 years of experience in the Gas & Power industry, working for ExxonMobil, Enron and BP in various back and front office roles.

During my time at BP, I was a Contract Manager for several Power Stations and a UK power trader, trading the prompt, curve and EUAs.

My final trading roles included the UK gas curve and the leading European gas hubs including Netherlands, France, Germany and Belgium.

I have over 15 year’s experience with BP. I have worked in a broad range of trading roles in oil, gas and LNG markets. I traded Heating Oil in Europe before switching commodities to trade natural gas in the US.

I then set up a team to trade UK NBP gas v US Henry Hub gas and was book leader for the LNG financial team, managing the hedging of BP’s LNG Portfolio and speculatively trading global oil and gas.

I have also worked in North Sea Crude operations, production planning at a Rotterdam refinery and in the BP group economics team. My last role was Strategy Manager for BP’s Shah Deniz/ Southern Corridor gas development. I joined TwoTwoFive in 2014.

I have over 25 years of experience in the Energy Trading business. I traded for 12 years in the UK and the US, mainly for BP, but also had experience with an American utility company, LG&E, running their Nat Gas and Electricity Options Trading Book and with Barclays Derivatives Team back in London. After returning to trade at BP I moved on to become a Trading Manager for Light Ends and then the Crude Oil Team.

I then switched to become Director of Learning & Development for BP’s Integrated Supply and Trading Business in London, taking over the Trader Graduate Programme. I created BP’s Trader Training School and also ran training courses around the world for key customers. After 12 years in this role, I retired from BP to spend more time with my family.

During my trading career at BP, I traded derivatives as part of a risk-management team, and paper and physical Crude Oil on the North Sea bench. Then as Trading Book Leader for Europe and the USA I was responsible for all entrepreneurial and asset-based Fuel Oil trading.

At BP I was heavily involved in trader selection, training and mentoring, and I decided to pursue this passion full-time, co-founding TwoTwoFive in 2011.

Away from work, I spend time with my family and am also a keen cyclist.

Over 40 years of front line commercial experience in the Oil Industry

Began career in London with Shell moving to Germany in 1990 to run their NWE Lubricants business.

Joined Marc Rich in 1991 and was there as it transitioned into the Glencore we know today, managing their Black Sea Processing operation.

I had the opportunity to join Masefield a small private company to run their East African supply business and subsequently headhunted to join Vitol in 2003 where I managed their Nigerian crude and gasoline business.

In 2007 I was asked to join BP to develop their Nigerian gasoline business. During this time I succeeded in developing a crude oil processing contract with NNPC which enabled BP to source their first-ever direct crude oil supply for their refining system. In 2010 I began working with the BP Training team, subsequently moving full-time in 2012 working on their graduate recruitment and training programme. I left BP in 2018 and joined TwoTwoFive in 2023.

The span of my commodities career has been in Financial markets at several of the top global banks; ABN AMRO, Barclays, Citi and Credit Suisse. As my expertise and commentary gained traction, I became a noted speaker on CNBC, Bloomberg and other media outlets. From there, I have had the opportunity to present at several prominent schools (London Business School, Tsinghua University and Texas A&M) as well as global events (APPEC, OPEC, IPE).

My expertise started with the Financial Markets (Futures, Options, OTC) and evolved into an understanding of the physical market trade. I have used this background in commodities and economics to assist in training oil companies in Latin America, Nigeria and Oman.

I have been a contributing author to several books and have a keen interest in writing about the oil markets.

Since graduating, I have spent the majority of my career at BP…moving between front office, mid-office, systems and organisational change programmes, and graduate recruitment. I’ve been responsible for Crude, Gas, and products trading business and held senior management roles in North America, London and Asia (Singapore).

Once CFO, I took responsibility for Fuel Oil trading and Marine sales. I’ve also been Managing Director ofSocarTrading Singapore, and then appointed Chief Risk Officer forSocarglobally.

I have spent 30 years of my career working in oil trading. I was regarded as an industry expert in the area of trading operations for crude oils in the North Sea and Middle East before progressing to a senior leadership position within BP’s international trading division. I was also Chairman of the British Pipeline Agency.

As BP’s Head of European Supply, I was directly responsible for the trading teams which were optimising the purchase and risk management of 75 million m3 p.a. of petroleum products. I am a founding partner of TwoTwoFive.

I have a strong interest in wildlife photography which often involves trips to Europe, Africa and South America.

I have over 25 years of experience in US energy, working at large financial institutions, utilities, and merchant houses. I have relevant experience in US power, natural gas, and oil, both physical and financial, with a specific emphasis on trading, risk management, and marketing.

Has successfully integrated and implemented multiple ETRM systems focused on providing detailed reporting and ensuring transparency up and down the value chain.

Proficient in business development strategy and advisory services, leveraging a commercial background in valuation and risk management skills.

I started trading for PowerGen then joined BP in 1999, trading Continental Europe. I established BP’s European Trading book, moving on to set up the Short Term Origination team for Gas, Power & Emissions in 2007. Most recently she headed up the Long Term Origination team for Northern Europe at BP.

I have had over 30 years of experience in Oil Energy Trading and Supply business working for BP, whom I left during the COVID years.

My roles at BP were varied: I traded physical gasoline in the UK, I then move to South Africa where I was responsible for purchasing and hedging the crude oil for the BP JV Refinery. I returned to work in the UK as the Inland Wholesale Manager. This was followed by a role as the LPG Global Supply and Logistics Manager. Upon returning to BPs trading arm, I had roles in Strategy, as the Business Manager for the Head of Trading for Europe and then Trading Manager for the Middle Distillates team.

I switched to Learning & Development for BP’s Supply and Trading Business in London. My team were responsible for commercial training and the Trader (Graduate and A level) recruitment and development programmes.

I have 20 years of experience as a manager, leader and mentor.

Argus media

Argus is a leading provider of data on prices and fundamentals, news, analysis, consultancy services and conferences for the global crude, oil products, natural gas, electricity, coal, emissions, bioenergy, fertilizer, petrochemical and transportation industries. Data provided by Argus are widely used for indexation of physical trade. Companies, governments and international agencies also use Argus information for analysis and planning purposes.

TwoTwoFive receive all relevant daily Argus commodity reports to ensure all course lectures and simulations are topical, and up to date. All delegates attending TwoTwoFive training courses will receive the appropriate daily Argus commodity reports during the course to enable the delegate to connect theory with reality.

ICE EDUCATION

ICE offers training and educational classes globally to suit all needs and levels of expertise. ICE provides both scheduled public courses across one to three day durations, and deliver an increasing amount of tailored/bespoke training direct to many major companies. All courses are delivered by industry experts in their fields and increasingly incorporate new learning technologies into delivered courses to help bring learning to life.

TwoTwoFive run a number of courses in-conjunction with ICE Education, including the Crude Oil and Product Trader programme and the Gas and Power Trading Programme. ICE Education and TwoTwoFive both value training incorporating new learning technologies and delivered by industry experts in their fields.

PRISM

PRISM is a revolutionary way of identifying people’s behaviour preferences. PRISM approaches human behaviour from the perspective of neuroscience, rather than psychological theory. This exciting online tool takes advantage of some of the most up-to-date neuroscience discoveries to provide users with a series of ‘maps’ which are representations of how they prefer to respond to the world around them. Each PRISM ‘map’ is a picture of the user as a unique individual.

PRISM is about observed behaviour. It measures the intensity of a person’s expressed preference for a range of behaviours and the activities related to those behaviours. To facilitate understanding, PRISM uses colours to illustrate the behaviour preferences. Although the PRISM model is a schema for brain functioning, the PRISM maps represent the dynamic interaction that takes place within the brain and is based on the principle that no one part of the brain does solely one thing and no one part of the brain acts alone. All our thoughts, emotions and actions are the results of many parts of the brain acting together.
