Salvation's Edge is the first 6-player Raid added in Destiny 2: The Final Shape, released on June 7, 2024. It has a Power Cap of 1965, which is no small feat! Here's what you need to know about Salvation's Edge in D2, including how to start the Raid.

How to Start Salvation's Edge in Destiny 2: The Final Shape

To start The Final Shape's Salvation's Edge Raid in Destiny 2, you must have completed the following steps:

  1. Completed The Final Shape's main campaign.
  2. Finished the post-game Wild Card Exotic quest.
  3. Reached the 1965 Power Cap.

Once you've done so, you can start Salvation's Edge from The Pale Heart map when you're in a Fireteam of six players. Open up the Director and select "The Pale Heart" to open the area's map. You'll find Salvation's Edge to the right of The Transgression, as seen in our map screenshot below:

The Salvation's Edge World's First race is currently underway, but we'll provide you with a full Raid walkthrough once we can! Stay tuned...

Destiny 2 Salvation's Edge Opening Walkthrough

Once you load into the raid, to get to the first encounter you'll need to run upwards on the side of structures. Eventually, you'll reach the first encounter. Check out the video below to see the path we took to get there on launch day.

Destiny 2 Salvation's Edge Substratum Encounter

The first encounter in the Destiny 2 Salvation's Edge raid has a few mechanics. To start, the encounter, pick up the Pyramidal Triangle and deposit it into the box.

You'll then need two groups to go separately into the doorways which open. Be careful as explosive Harpies will be exiting as you head in.

Once they're dealt with, head in and you'll need to Kill a Hydra and continue through the area as more doors open. Make note of the red squares on the ground as they will light up. But more on that later. Proceed through the first room, into the next room. If your doors are all shut, the other team likely needs to kill a Hydra to allow you to proceed. Once that happens, one team will need to find a Devotee of the Witness Minotaur that must be defeated. Once killed a Threshold Sentinel will spawn in the main room. Kill it to start the process all over again.

Once you've done the above a 2nd time, and killed the Threshold Sentinel you'll want to again break up into two teams and look for a glowing plate to stand on. Stepping on this plate will send a beam of light on the ground to the other plate, and another player will need to go to it. Once you arrive, let the beam of light travel all the way along the ground and into the second plate. Watch the plate begin to charge up; It will make a sound indicating that it's doing so. After only a moment, step on it briefly to send the charge back to the other side where the first player will let the plate charge up, and then send it back to the other player.

While this is happening, some enemies will spawn in the room as well as something called Pyramidal Resonance. Every player should pick up 3 of these if possible. The people managing the plate should keep passing the charge back and forth until there's around 30 seconds on the Final Shape Looming clock. At that point, you'll want to have one group shoot the spire's glowing yellow diamond to "lock" your plate. It will glow bright yellow if you've been successful. Shoot the pyramid in the middle, and then step on the plate as it charges. This should lock it. You can also step on and shoot it at the same time to "lock" your node. Once the nodes are locked, you can return to the main room. It will take one of your Pyramidal Resonance when you lock the spire.

Back in the main room, a Harbinger of the Witness will spawn. You'll need to kill it and a box will spawn in the main room, but it's a bit slow to do so after the Harbinger is defeated. Once it spawns, immediately put the Pyramidal Resonance you've collected into the box. This will extend your time and allow you to do the entire thing again until you've collected around 45 Pyramidal Resonance. Then it's onto the next encounter.

Destiny 2 Salvation's Edge Hearald of Finality Boss Fight Encounter

During the Herald of Finality boss encounter you will enter a large central area with 3 structures in front of 3 sections where you'll have to pass resonance back and forth. One at the back where you spawn, and one to the left, and right of the starting point where you drop the flag. You will need to separate into three groups of two and have each group go to a section of the map. To start the encounter, shoot the taken orb in the center of the arena.

Once at your location, clear out any enemies who have spawned. This will include a "Trammel of" enemy type which appears as either a Taken Ogre, Taken Phalanx, or Taken Witch. Once they've all been defeated, you'll see a prompt that says "The Hearld summons [PLAYERNAME] to battle." First, kill the "Trammel of" enemy type that appears at their location. Everyone can damage this enemy. Once the Trammel enemy is defeated you'll get the prompt "Energy flows into the architecture."

Once you have energy, begin passing the energy back and forth between a plate up top, and a plate on bottom 3 times. You'll generate Spherical Resonance and Pyramid Resonance. Do not pick them up at this point in time. Leave them on the ground.

The players who were summoned to battle now need to go into the middle ring and fire at the Hearld of Finality's head until you get the buff Stolen Favor which will appear at the top middle of your screen.

While one player is summoned to battle, the player remaining at each section will need to look for a large taken orb that spawns. Be sure you take it out. Now, the player with the Stolen Favor buff will return to his portion of the map. This buff will allow you to see which resonance must be used to close your spire at your section of the map. Collect the resonance, and shut the spire.

Then, have all teams meet in the center and deposit any remaining resonance in the chest that appears in the center of the map to extend your timer. DPS on the boss will now begin.

Players have been swords for the damage phase. Options include The Lament, Falling Guillotine or any heavy sword for this section.

While doing damage, a Warlock well and swords have been quite effective for the raid teams who've cleared this portion of the raid. Complete the above steps until the Herald of Finality is defeated.

During the Herald of Finality's final stand, he will go immune for a brief moment and spawn more Trammel enemies onto the battlefield. Quickly defeat them and finish doing damage to the Herald of Finality to complete the encounter.

Destiny 2 Salvation's Edge Repository Carve a Path Encounter

To complete the "Carve a Path" raid encounter, players will need to collect Pyramidial Resonance, Spherical Resonance, and Square Resonance. The player who kills the Tormentor at the beginning will get a buff that allows them to see the corresponding symbol needed for each side to close their conduit. You'll need to use the correct resonance to close each conduit, as called out by the player who can see what's required.

Once you begin Tormentors will appear on the battlefield and need to be killed to bring energy into the architecture. Doing this will spawn Cabal turrets that should be destroyed immediately. Once the energy is activated, begin passing it between two plates on your section of the map to build resonance. Have each player pick a unique type of resonance and pick it up. Once you each have 3, have a player lock your resonance spire with the correct resonance type. Then deposit all remaining Resonance into each box to continue to the next section. You will need to insert each resonance type into the box to proceed and extend your timer.

Just before the final door of each area, an Unstoppable Incendior will appear and need to be defeated as well as several enemies around the field. Continue upwards until you complete the encounter.

Destiny 2 Salvation's Edge Verity See Beyond Encounter

We'll get to the full breakdown of Verity, but most people get stuck on the shapes puzzle. The easiest way we can explain it is as follows. The teams who get teleported into their own rooms will call out Triangle, Circle, Square (as an example.) The player on the outside who is dissecting, needs to remove those shapes from the statues in the room with 3 players. So if the Left Statue is a triangle, it will need the remaining two shapes moved onto their statue. Circle and Square. If the left statue has a triangle in its combined shape, the dissecting player should defeat a knight until it drops a triangle. Pick it up. And insert it into the left triangle. This REMOVES it from that guardian. Next, you'd want to defeat the knight and pick up one of the other shapes. For example, let's say we pick up a square. We would put the square in the far right statue as it does not need a square. This will swap the square with the triangle.

Next, we know the middle statue does not need a circle. So we will kill knights until they drop a circle. Put the circle into the middle statue. This removes it. Now, kill knights again until they drop another triangle. Put the triangle into the far left guardian. This will swap the triangle and circle. At this point, you should now be complete with dissecting the left statue. You need only to swap the middle circle, with the remaining square on the right side.

So kill the knight until they drop either of those shapes. In our example, we'll say they drop a square. Put the square into the far right statue. Now kill knights until they drop a circle. Put the circle into the middle statue. You are now done dissecting.

Now here's a full breakdown of all the additional mechanics to consider.

Many teams worry a bit too much about the 3D shapes, but it's not particularly necessary to know this as you will always start with a 3D shape that consists of 2 shapes the statue does not need. You need only to move them between each other. Do this three times and you've completed the raid.

The first thing you’ll notice upon entering the room is the six Guardian statues, modeled after your current raiding party. Take some time to identify what each guardian looks like. And also what their ghost looks like before you continue. The more unique each member looks the better!) Along with their chosen Ghost’s design. Make sure everyone has a Ghost that’s easy to identify for the latter half of this encounter. To start the encounter, interact with the three statues at the back of the room.

Your Fireteam will be split into two groups: Inside and Outside. The team on the Inside- each in their own Solo room- will see three statues with three shapes in a specific order. These shapes will be the same across all of the Inside team, so only one person needs to call the order out.

The team on the Outside will be tasked with creating shapes based on the information given to them by the team on the Inside- these shapes will be the ones not present on the statue Inside. For example, if the Inside statue on the left is a square, Inside will call out square, and the outside team will need to add a triangle and a circle to the leftmost statue. However, instead of seeing both shapes currently on any outside statue, you’ll see the combined shape of the smaller, individual ones. The combinations are as follows:

  • Two Squares = Cube

advertisem*nt

  • Two Triangles = Pyramid
  • Two Circles = Sphere
  • Square + Triangle = Triangular Prism
  • Square + Circle = Cylinder
  • Circle + Triangle = Cone

To do this, you’ll need to "trade" shapes between statues. For example, if the left statue requires a square and a triangle, but is currently a square and a circle- A cylinder- you first need to pick up a circle from one of the Hive Knights and take it to the far left statue, then pick up a triangle and do the same to whichever statue does not need its triangle. This will swap the positions of both shapes, leaving you with the correct leftmost statue. You’ll need to make this trade will all three statues, quickly- designate one person on the outside to adjust the statues, and the remaining two should focus on clearing adds and covering whoever is managing the shapes.

For the inside team, have whoever is doing callouts for the statues do so, so that the Outside team can get to work. You will need to create a Final Shape of your own to regroup with your Fireteam to progress; the first step is looking at your statue and determining what your Guardian’s shape is, then acquiring two of that shape. You can check which shapes you have at any given time by looking at what’s projected onto your wall. If you need two squares, but have a square and a circle, kill Knights until they drop a circle, and then send it over to the statue with the circle. Do this for everyone on the Inside team until they all have two shapes matching their statue.

Now it’s time to hand over your shapes to the other Inside team members. Kill the Knights again, but this time, give one shape to each of the other Inside members by depositing it at their statues. Do not begin assembling your Final Shape until everyone on the Inside team has the correct shapes they need on their Wall. Once they do the same for you, the Knights will now drop both shapes you were initially missing from your Statue. Once you have both, you can jump through the broken glass portal to reach the real world again. Each time you send someone a shape, an Ogre will spawn, which should be killed right away.

Unfortunately, as you all assemble your shapes, the Witness will become wise to what’s going on and kill everyone currently on the inside team. The outside team will need to pick up the Ghosts of the dead Guardians and bring them back to the initial area with the six statues. The catch is that the three statues of the dead Guardians will be empty, and only the dead members of the Fireteam will be able to see who goes where. This is why it’s paramount that you be able to identify everyone’s statue ’and' their Ghost. Allow the dead Guardians to call out the statues one at a time, then match the Ghost to their statue. As soon as they’re alive again, they need to get right back to sorting out their shapes as if nothing went wrong.

Once the group is reunited, two Unstoppable Ogres will spawn. Once they’re dead, the Witness will make one final attempt to stop you by killing ‘five’' of your total fireteam. You’ll need to repeat the process of identifying ghosts to statues. Once everyone is alive, repeat the process two more times to clear the encounter.

Destiny 2 Salvation's Edge The Witness Boss Fight Encounter

If you've come this far, you have one more boss battle before you complete Salvation's Edge- the Witness himself. As this is a true boss encounter, the puzzle elements from the last encounter have been dialed back, but they've been replaced with high-damage telegraphs you'll need to prepare for to come out on top.

advertisem*nt

Before you can get to the Damage Phase of the battle, you'll first need to break the six buttons on the Witness's chest. Your Fireteam will split into three groups: Two groups of two on each end of the V-shaped platform dealing with ads, and two people focused on completing mechanics.

While the ads team focuses on killing the spawning enemies, the two remaining fireteam members must:

  • Shoot the bracelet on one of the Witness’s hands, taking note of the color and the specific location of the hand you just shot.
  • Acquire the resonance(outlined below) from the corresponding color that appears when you shoot the hand- this can be done by standing in the area of effect long enough to get the resonance buff, but ‘’’not’’’ long enough for the attack to kill you.
* Return to the initial hand whose color you noted and shoot the bracelet to destroy it. You’ll acquire the Glyphbreaker buff, allowing you to shoot one of the buttons on the Witness’ chest to destroy it. You’ll need to do this six times- the total number of buttons.

Each hand has a unique attack and color assigned to it.

  • Ceiling-to-floor hand: Green/Triangle, spawns a triangular yellow trap under a player.
  • Floor-to-ceiling hand: Yellow/Circle, spawns a circle aoe.
  • Horizontal hand: Red/Square, spawns a line aoe.

As you work through the buttons there are two mechanics designed to wipe you before you reach the damage phase. The first is the Resonance- each time you stand in an area-of-effect attack from one of the Witness’ hands, you’ll gain a stack of Resonance, with four instantly killing you. To cleanse these buffs, once the team on mechanics destroys a button on the Witness, stand on the center platform to have them removed.

The second involves the callout ‘The Witness tests you…' After this appears in the bottom left corner, you’ll need to destroy six of the fourteen crystals he spawns in the shape of the last hand you destroyed. An easy way to know when this mechanic is coming up is to listen for the high-pitched scream the hands will occasionally make when they’re killed- if you hear that scream you will not only know the mechanic is coming, but you’ll also know which shape you’ll need to shoot into the hourglasses to solve the puzzle.

  • If you need to make a square, shoot the six innermost crystals leaving only a square shape.

advertisem*nt

  • For the triangle, shoot the top left crystal, then shoot the crystal to its immediate right, and then finally do the same to the one directly below it. Do the same to the top right crystal- shoot it, then the immediate left and the one below it.
  • The circle is a bit tricker- shoot the four crystals in the corners and then the two uppermost center ones. This will leave you with a vaguely diamond shape, but it will appease the Witness nonetheless.

As soon as you solve this puzzle, the Witness will attempt to wipe your group. When you see his eyes flash, jump immediately to dodge the attack, and then resume breaking the buttons. After you’ve done this six times, you’ll finally be able to send everyone to the center platform and enter the Damage Phase, striking at the white weak spot in his center.

Note that during the Damage Phase, the Witness is still attacking you- the nastiest of which is when he grabs his head- his eyes will flicker just as he did after testing you so that he can punt you all off of the platform. Time your jump for when his eyes flash to avoid before resuming damage. When his weak spot changes color, you’ll need to jump off the platform before he once again wipes you all, repeating the previous mechanics.

At ten percent remaining health, you’ll have one final chance to kill the Witness- spend everything you have- Supers, heavy ammo, everything- before you’re all killed. All of the attacks you’ve seen thus far will come at a much faster rate than before, so don’t waste any time with anything less than your best weapons and abilities. If you can reduce his health to zero here, you will have completed Salvation’s Edge.
