When they come here in the first week of Oct., I bet they will be in the top five in the country. Their schedule is one of the easiest in the SEC and they have talent, money and call him what you want, but one of the best offensive coaches in the country. If he ever gets his defense going he can win it all.

Which has nothing to do with the question asked.

He is. Exciting offense and that helps recruiting. Plus I think recruits like his personality even if others see him as arrogant and co*cky. Wonder if at some point he can leave he would. Have to think if or when bigger job is available he jumps.

They have the 64th ranked class. We have the 20th ranked class.

Ole Miss does not recruit HS much better than us if at all better. Check the past 3 cycles.

We have consistently out-recruited them. They finished one spot higher last year but only due to quantity - they had six more recruits and we easily beat them on average star rating (by 1.27, which is a wide margin).

We finished seven spots higher in 2023. They were .09 higher in average star rating, but we needed to bring in a large class and signed eight more players - to beat then that badly in quantity and still be virtually the same in star rating is a big edge.

This year we are 20, they are 64. They do have the edge in star rating by .6 but largely because we needed to bring in a kicker. And this is in a year where the fans are whining about us being "3 star U".

All of that before you get into the fact that recruits from our state are historically under-rated.

Has nothing to do with his team this year.

And recruiting can be judged when pen meets paper.

Don't understand why somebody making a thread going
"Wonder why Ole Miss lost four of their too ranked recruits this week" results in South Carolina fans going

"YEAH BUT THEY'RE RECRUITING BETTER THAN US COMPARE THAT"

    And whatever you're saying here.

I’ve noticed more and more lately that some folks have trouble staying on topic. I wonder if some of those folks are the same ones that freak out any time a kid decommits from SC but don’t want to consider that there could possibly be an issue if 4 kids decommit from another school.

Lane is 95-49 and never has had a losing season as a college coach. I think they will be okay.

He went to the portal and bought a defense. It will be interesting to see if they can coach them into a cohesive unit. If that happens, he may make it to the championship game.
