Did I mention the view is stunning? It's like living at the lake all year, but much closer to Springfield. Actually it's better than the lake; the myriad of activities in the park, the nature on the river, being close to all the activities in Springfield, Ozark's excellent schools, etc. I have lived next door for 19 years, and know of no other lifestyle like this. My wife and I have looked at houses twice the price, but simply can't find it worth leaving this peaceful setting on the water, and so close to Springfield. At 30 feet above the water, the Canadian geese circle in for landing right in front of your deck. There is an eagle that winters in the tree off the point of the island. There's always happy sounds from the ball fields, playgrounds, and horse arenas in the Finley River Park, across the 150 foot expanse of the river (it makes a small lake due to the dam at the famous Ozark Mill, 3 blocks down river). We have dinner parties on our 'Huck Finn' motorized (12'x20') barge, which we can take miles up river. We were even married on the barge in the center of the river, with guests in the park! It's rare that homes on this street come available to lease. It is the most fun and tranquil location near Springfield!

The only reason it's available now is that our excellent tenant had a life situation that makes it necessary (but he said it is excruciating to move away). The first person that saw it last time immediately took it. So please come to the open house at 4!

The home is the original 1960s style, that is especially popular now. The lower level walks out onto your patio right above the water; and its wall of river facing windows make for a great craft area or kids play retreat, or work shop. And of course, on the upper level, there's a 30' deck along the East side of the home, facing the river. The living room has the most spectacular view of the river on the street. From Thanksgiving through Christmas, there is a panoramic view of the drive through Christmas light display that is breath-taking! Events like the balloon glow in the park make it especially exotic.

The neighborhood: It's like living in Mayberry, USA. It's a dead end street, where dogs are being walked, and most people know each other by name. As you can see from the pictures, it's a comfortable, 1960s, cottage style home. It looks huge from the park side, but from the street it looks just ordinary. The few houses that exist here along the river cost twice as much as they would elsewhere (due to location and fantastic view), and hence the rent amount. But the setting is extraordinary!

I purchased the new washer and dryer from my last tenant but you are welcome to bring your own. He said he only used it 10 times!
