Eric F. Calfee, MD, FACOG

Dr. Calfee received both his undergraduate degree in biology with highest honors and his medical degree from the University of Tennessee. He completed his Ob/Gyn residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center where he served as administrative chief resident. He is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He joined AOG in 1997 and resides in Dalton with his wife and two children. Special areas of interest are minimally invasive surgery including daVinci robotic surgery, high and low risk obstetrics, infertility, preventive care and in-office procedures.

S. Craig Tidwell, MD, FACOG

Dr. Tidwell received his undergraduate degree in biology magna cum laude from Middle Tennessee State University and his doctor of medicine from the University of Tennessee. He completed his Ob/Gyn residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee and after graduation in 1999 joined AOG. He is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He lives in Dalton with his wife and three children. Special areas of interest include minimally invasive surgery, in-office procedures, pelvic pain, infertility, incontinence and preventive care.

Richard M. Loftis, MD, FACOG

Dr. Loftis received his undergraduate degree in biology from Valdosta State University and his doctor of medicine from the Medical College of Georgia. He completed his Ob/Gyn residency in Asheville, North Carolina where he served as administrative chief resident. He joined AOG in 2014 and resides in Dalton with his wife and three children. He is a junior fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Special areas of interest include minimally invasive surgery including daVinci robotic and vagin*l surgery, in-office procedures, infertility, high and low risk obstetrics and preventive care.

Mathew D. Smith, MD, FACOG

Dr. Smith graduated summa cum laude from Western Kentucky University where he majored in recombinant genetics. He then completed medical school and residency at the University of Tennessee and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. After two years in solo practice in Dickson, Tennessee he joined AOG in 2004. Areas of interest include daVinci robotic surgery, in-office procedures, pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence, preventive care and amniocentesis for prenatal diagnosis. He lives in Dalton with his wife and three children.

Angela S. Wood, MD, FACOG

Dr. Wood obtained her undergraduate degree in psychology from Princeton University. After several years working in the mental health field, she returned to medical school at the Medical College of Georgia where she received her medical degree in 2004 and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. She completed her Ob/Gyn residency in Asheville, North Carolina where she served as administrative chief resident and in 2008 returned to northwest Georgia to join AOG. She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Her areas of interest include daVinci robotic surgery, in-office procedures, preventive care, adolescent health, patient education and the menopausal transition. She lives in Dalton with her husband, is the proud mom of an adult son and daughter, and is an avid baseball fan.

Wesley Stuckey, MD, FACOG

Dr. Wesley Stuckey was born in Mobile, Alabama. Following completion of his undergraduate degree at Auburn University in 1982, he attained his Doctorate of Medicine at University of South Alabama. His residency training in obstetrics and gynecology was at University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Joining North Georgia Women’s Center in 1993, he is aboard-certified obstetrician/gynecologistand his special interest is laparoscopic surgery. Dr. Stuckey and his wife, Martha, have four children. They are members of First United Methodist Church in Dalton.

Theresa Wong, MD

Dr. Wong received her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Duke University and her doctor of medicine from Wake Forest University School of Medicine. She completed her Ob/Gyn residency in Asheville, North Carolina where she served as administrative chief resident. After residency, she moved Georgia to join AOG in 2022. She is a junior fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Special areas of interest include minimally invasive surgery, in-office procedures, vulvar health including vulvar dermatoses and vulvar pain, adolescent health, and high and low risk obstetrics. She resides in Dalton with her husband and three bulldogs.

Rita-Marie Davis, CNM

Rita-Marie received her bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Florida, then in 2000 completed her masters in nursing and midwifery training at Vanderbilt University. She joined AOG in 2007 and is their Midwife Coordinator.

Rita-Marie lives in Dalton with her husband Eric Davis who is a second grade teacher at Cedar Ridge Elementary. They have 2 children named Patten & Piper. Rita-Marie loves being a midwife in our closely knit community and on her days off she enjoys spontaneous trips with her family/friends, making jewelry and doing home improvement projects.

Rita-Marie says she became a midwife because she wanted to make a difference in women’s lives. “No matter what stage of life a woman is in (teenager through menopause) she needs to feel she is cared about at her medical visits. I pride myself in being a great listener. I became a midwife so I could bond with women at the same time that I provide them safe medical care and education.”

Michelle B. Edgeman, MSN, CNM, FNP-BC

Michelle received her associate of science in nursing degree from Dalton College then followed it with her bachelor of science in nursing from the State University of West Georgia in Carrollton, Georgia. After working as a labor and delivery nurse at Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton, Georgia for 9 years, she completed her masters in nursing graduating with high honors from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia in 2008. Michelle holds dual certifications as both a midwife and family nurse practitioner. Joining AOG in 2010 and becoming part of a team of midwives with a legacy of providing only the best care to women of all ages in the North Georgia area allowed her to realize a life-long dream of caring for and empowering women. She enjoys working in the area where she grew up and where she and her husband of over 20 years are now raising their two daughters. Her favorite things to do are being involved with her church, spending time with her family and her dog, going on vacations, date night, going to the movies, manicures and pedicures, and a good massage.

Lauren Mix, CNM

Lauren is a Certified Nurse-Midwife who returned to the AOG family inFebruary 2021 having been an intern here back in 2018. A proud “military brat”, Lauren has lived in Idaho, Alabama, Florida, Georgia and now Tennessee. Lauren received a Bachelor of Science of Nursing degree from the Florida State University, and received her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Vanderbilt University where she was a Dean’s Honor Scholarship recipient. She is certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board and is an active member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives.
Lauren’s favorite part about being a midwife is walking with women and their families through their pregnancy journey serving as a guide and their biggest supporter. She believes that women can achieve anything when they feel valued and heard.

When Lauren is not catching babies, she enjoys perfecting her fantasy football team, reading, hiking and spending time with family and friends. Lauren currently resides in Chattanooga, TN.

Lauren “Lo” Banaszak, MSN, CNM, FNP-BC

“Lo” received her bachelor’s of science in nursing from Calvin College in Grand Rapids MI back in 2010. She worked as a registered nurse for six years in the emergency department followed by 4 years in labor and delivery. Finding her passion in women’s health she decided to pursue an advanced practice degree at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN for both Certified Nurse Midwife and Family Practice Nurse Practitioner. Lo and her husband Dan now live in Chattanooga, a halfway point between families. She is ecstatic to be a part of the AOG family following her internship with them and to care for the women of Northern Georgia.

She loves to walk alongside women through life’s intricacies, including, health prevention, pregnancy, family planning, contraception, menopause, etc. When she is not working, Lo loves to be with friends and family enjoying the outdoors, exploring, sipping on coffee, eating ice cream, playing games and making memories.

Bethany Conrad, MSN, CNM, WHNP-BC

Bethany received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2008 from Biola University in La Mirada, California. She worked as a registered nurse in Labor and Delivery for a total of 7 years, during which time she gained a passion for women’s health care – longing to be a partner with women in their healthcare throughout their lifespan. Bethany then pursued a Master of Science in Nurse-Midwifery and a Post-Master’s Certificate as a Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner from Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, Kentucky. She is board-certified as both a Nurse-Midwife from the American Midwifery Certification Board and a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from the National Certification Corporation.

Bethany first started working as a Certified Nurse-Midwife in 2015 shortly after the birth of her first child. Over the course of the next 7 years, she walked alongside many women and caught hundreds of babies in addition to having two more children of her own and fostering a teenage relative to legal guardianship. She joined the AOG Dalton family in the summer of 2022, shortly after the birth of her fourth child. Bethany strives to offer safe, comprehensive, evidence-based, and meaningful midwifery care – being especially passionate about education, counseling, and informed consent. She is excited to be a part of a team who shares that same desire to bring meaningful midwifery care to the community of Northern Georgia.

Bethany lives in Dalton with her husband, Jared, and their children – Aurora, James, Nicole, Rebecca, and Jessica. They enjoy going on family vacations (mostly road trips and cruises) and swimming in their pool. Bethany likes to crochet, garden, and is especially fond of Broadway musicals and British TV mini-series of book adaptations and period dramas.

Judy Martin, BSN, MN, CNM

Judy earned her BSN from Columbia Union College in Takoma Park, Maryland and both her MN and CNM from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. After working two years in Gainesville, Georgia she joined AOG in 1990. She particularly enjoys the opportunity to provide education and support during pregnancy and childbirth. Judy is married and has one son and three step-children. She is also a proud grandmother and enjoys being involved in her church, gardening, and traveling.

Judy has retired from full-time midwifery practice but continues to work caring for pregnant patients at our local health department.

Asia Deslattes, MSN, FNP-C

Asia received her first bachelor’s degree in Biology from The University of Georgia, GO DAWGS! She received her second bachelor’s in Nursing from Kennesaw State University and her master’s in Nursing from The University of Alabama in Birmingham. She was an RN in the Intensive Care Unit at Gordon Hospital for 6 years before transitioning to her role as a Nurse Practitioner. She is bilingual in English and Spanish and is originally from California, but has lived in Dalton for 22 years. As an active member in the community, she is excited to be able to serve patients in the area. She enjoys spending her free time with family and friends, and reading a good book.

Vickie Chapman, MSN, FNP-C

Vickie has been in healthcare the majority of her life. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with her BSN from the Medical College of Georgia in 1982. After graduation, she worked in Labor & Delivery first as a staff nurse and later as their manager for 22 years. In 2006, she graduated from North Georgia College & State University with a Masters in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner degree. Upon graduation she received the Most Outstanding Graduate Student for 2006.

After graduation, she worked in a busy family medicine practice for over a decade.
Vickie joined AOG in 2021 to return to her love of caring for women of all ages.

Vickie loves singing with her sisters and her church choir. She also enjoys sewing, quilting and collecting vintage sewing machines. Vickie lives in Chatsworth with her husband , Mark along with her three rescue dogs. Together they have three grown children and seven beautiful grandchildren.

Morgan Hatfield, MSN, FNP-C

Morgan received her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Georgia. She then got her Master’s in Nursing from Augusta University, specializing in Clinical Nurse Leadership. She worked as a labor and delivery RN for 5 years at Emory Johns Creek Hospital in Atlanta before completing a post-Master’s certificate from Georgia State University to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. After graduating, she first worked as a nurse practitioner in gastroenterology for 2 years before returning to her love of women’s health and joining the AOG team. She loves serving women in the community and helping them reach their optimal health goals.

She is originally from Marietta, Georgia but now lives in Dalton with her husband. She enjoys traveling, spending time with family, days spent on Lake Allatoona or reading a good true crime or romance book.
