OC Revive has been the best experience I have ever had in the treatment world. I have been to over 50 treatment centers so I have had a lot of experience. Every single staff member is incredibly warm and welcoming, always available to help in every way they can, and I know they care about the clients deeply and are there for so much more than a paycheck. Client care has only increased even with growing census which is extremely admirable. That does not happen often. OC Revive saved my life and I will always be grateful for every single person that has helped me along the way. OC Revive will be a huge part of my life until the day I die.I cannot wait to see the program continue to progress and the amount of people they are going to help.

Lake Forest is one of the best choices for addiction & mental health treatment in Orange County. Although none of our programs are full-time, inpatient intensives, we offer numerous different programs, varying in the intensity and dedication demanded from patients.

Lake Forest is a relatively small city situated in a much larger and more populous county: Orange County, or OC. With over 3 million people living in the OC, which itself is all a part of the Los AngelesLong BeachAnaheim Metropolitan Statistical Area, you’ll realize how much hard work had to be put in for OC Revive to earn the respect and appreciation that it has.

Lake Forest might only have around 85,000 people, but it’s one of 34 incorporated cities in the County. It simply means that here, you’ll have a chance to actually go for a stroll without being rushed and pushed through crowds all the time. The same world-class experiences that you’d expect anywhere in the Metropolitan area are available to you here, without the push-and-shove.

OC Revive is located at 24432 Muirlands Boulevard, Lake Forest, smack-dab in the middle of the OC (the locals’ affectionate name for Orange County).

Why Choose Mental Health or Addiction Treatment in Orange County, CA?

To the locals it’s obvious why people have traveled from all over the world to come attend a treatment program in Orange County, more specifically in Lake Forest, that address co-occurring disorders. The name alone conjures up images of beauty and intrigue that are fit for this beautiful Southern California location.

Location

Though perhaps not close enough for a jaunt to and from, Revive is a mere 15-minute drive away from one of the most expansive (and hot—bring a hat!) nature reserves throughout SoCal.

In fact, numerous famous trails and hikes dot the coast of Forest Lake, ensuring that nature buffs and hiking enthusiasts will find it easy to replace their addictive behaviors with wholesome and healthy exercise routines. The Niguel Botanical Preserve, Aliso Peak, the Emerald Canyon Hiking Trail, Oso Creek Trail, the Dripping Cave… these are just a handful of the parks and trails that you’ll find within 15 miles of OC Revive.

OC Revive is the holder of the Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval for Behavioral Health Care Accreditation. This is an unparalleled statement of quality assurance for any medical facility. And it’s one of the most solid pieces of evidence that proves our treatment facility offers exceptional service thanks to our incredible staff and top-notch facilities and training procedures.

Commitment & Non-Judgment

Orange County, and the County of Orange Health Care Agency, are no strangers to mental health & addiction. The Agency is highly involved in helping to throttle the current opioid crisis, working in partnership with the Alcohol and Drug Advisory Board to unite people with different areas of experience regarding mental health & drug and alcohol treatment services.

One thing that this means is that Orange County is, by and large, more progressive than some areas in regards to addiction. Our focus is on outpatient intensives and standard outpatient programs, ranging from the most basic outpatient to more dedicated partial hospitalization programs. Whatever the case is, you’re not confined at the facility like you would be during an inpatient program. Which means you’ll be free to engage with the public.

Being in a city that’s progressive and willing to engage with addiction rather than shunning it is important. It helps people in recovery feel at home, feel accepted, and feel understood. This is one of the most important aspects of anybody’s recovery.

Whether it’s the understanding of the public, the dedication of our local health teams to the defeat of the opioid crisis, the numerous programs, hotlines, and opportunities available for people affected by recovery, or the various pro-sobriety programs you’ll enjoy after your treatment… There are plenty of reasons to choose rehab in Orange County to improve your overall well being.

As far as pro-sobriety programs go, we also strive to offer the most helpful of these: increase the long-term success rate of our clients by providing them with quality aftercare and Sober Living assistance following completion of our IOP, PHP, or OP program resulting in a sustainable recovery. Aftercare programs can vary depending on the individual, but all have one goal: helping our clients remain focused on their recovery even after they’ve departed from the facility.

Does Orange County, California Provide Treatment for Alcohol Addiction?

Absolutely! Orange County’s Alcohol Drug Advisory Board (ADAB) wouldn’t have it any other way, and their continuing work with various aspects of mental health and recovery are helping to ensure that Orange County remains one of the most reliable and sought after counties for recovery treatment.

In addition to providing treatment, ADAB encourages people to make healthy choices with the Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Services Strategic Plan. Together with Public Health Services’ Alcohol and Drug Education and Prevention Team (ADEPT), and Mental Health and Recovery Services’ AOD Prevention Services, entire governing bodies are dedicated to reducing addiction.

One of the best ways to do that is to arm the people who do come into rehab with the proper knowledge, so that they can develop a strong withdrawal management strategy and can go out in the world and be a well-educated, positive influence on younger drinkers. Alcohol is one of the most dangerous drugs available, even when compared to illicit street drugs.

It’s significantly more important to attend a proper rehabilitation and detoxification program than most people think. Alcohol is widely available and legal, so most believe it’s relatively benign. It’s not. People who drink daily and have massive, dynamic social lives may not realize that they’re putting themselves at risk of becoming so physically dependent on alcohol that their nervous system could suffer from, basically, an electrical surge (i.e. a seizure) and kill them.

With the increasing number of deaths and injuries related to alcohol consumption we believe that it’s more important than ever to provide adequate treatment. An increase of 41% in alcohol-related deaths occurred between . ADAB and ADEPT are working to lower these statistics, hoping to see a decline by the time the next census is taken.

Orange County substance abuse treatment can help you arrange the best program and protocol to free yourself from alcohol addiction. An alcohol detox program will help to ensure that you can process the residual alcohol and the relevant withdrawal symptoms without sending your body into shock. Attempting to detox from alcohol at home can lead to seizures and even death.

What makes our programs special is the quality of treatment that patients receive. We’re staffed with specialized professionals and equipped with the best equipment to make the transition into treatment for addiction as easy as possible.

However, at no point do we skip out on any of the important parts. We recognize that mental health and addiction are closely interrelated, and that addiction almost always accompanies another mental health disorder. Thus, we work to treat the two issues together. When a mental health problem and an addiction afflict someone at the same time it’s called a co-occurring disorder, or comorbidity.

What Other Sort of Mental Health & Addiction Treatment Programs Exist Around Orange County, CA?

At our facility, we primarily offer different degrees of outpatient rehab. There are, however, several tiers to choose from. Different patients will require different things from us. The most common major programs include outpatient (OP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and partial hospitalization programs (PHPs). In addition to these, we provide comprehensive substance abuse treatment in Orange County, catering to individuals with severe substance use disorders. Our offerings include drug court, DUI court, detox treatment programs, and other therapeutic alternatives and support services, emphasizing the benefits of medically supervised detox and residential treatment to ensure the best possible recovery outcomes.

Outpatient

Outpatient rehab is a good first line of defense for anybody who is struggling with a mild to moderate addiction. If you’ve never had a problem with addiction before, or if you’ve never attended a rehab treatment, outpatient may be a good place to start.

Outpatient is much more affordable, and allows people more freedoms, but it can be more of a challenge. While outpatient rehab allows you to maintain your current work, school, or life schedule, you have to be confident in your determination and your ability to resist temptation while you’re away from the facility.

If you think that you can handle that, then great! Outpatient rehab will be more than enough for you.

Intensive Outpatient

IOP programs are more demanding than regular outpatient programs, often requiring up to 30 hours per week of commitment to counseling and coaching. Clients usually have to agree to participate in programs for at least a couple of months; they also tend to end up in an IOP coming from the top-down (as in, from an even more intensive program) rather than bottom-up.

No matter how you arrive you’re still able to maintain your regular schedule, though: our professionals can work around that. All of our programs are designed to be easy enough to integrate into a schedule as long as you can be flexible.

The programs at an IOP are less rigorous than those of a PHP and thus more affordable.

Partial Hospitalization Programs

PHP programs are designed to function as a sort of halfway point between inpatient rehab and outpatient rehab. Most patients that we have in PHP just completed an inpatient program and aren’t feeling comfortable enough to return to society.

Typically courses run throughout most of the day. Patients are still allowed to return home in the evenings and on weekends, but the more stringent demands and scheduling makes this option more effective for people with serious addictions. It’s about as close to an inpatient program as you can get without an actual inpatient program.

Other Treatment Options

We also offer these treatment options for people who have more specific needs.

Virtual IOP

The COVID pandemic brought awareness of the need for virtual medical and mental health treatment programs (referred to collectively as telehealth, telemedicine, virtual therapy, etc.) These programs bring access to medical health treatment options that they might otherwise be unable to access by allowing people to connect with us via video chat, voice call, or even text messages.

Evening-IOP

Evening-IOP is a great option for people who have regular day-to-day work schedules and don’t want to sacrifice their job for their recovery.

Medication-Assisted Treatment

Medication-assisted treatment involves the use of prescribed medications; usually long-acting drugs with similar pharmacology as those that you’re addicted to. This allows you to have access to a safe supply that is less easy to abuse. Thus you can attend therapy and group meetings without losing focus due to cravings or discomfort.

Drug Court Programs

Drug court programs can vary in what they actually provide since the circumstances leading each individual into such a program are always unique. Generally, people end up in a drug court program after being accused of a crime but prior to actually being convicted.

If the problem is determined to have been drug-related, then the offender might be referred to drug court and given a chance to complete a recovery program at a facility like OC Revive. Successful completion of the program could lead to the dismissal of charges.

Drug court programs have numerous requirements that other programs don’t, such as random and regular drug tests, regular appearances in court, rewards for remaining consistent with your goals (or sanctions in case of failure), assistance finding employment, and establishing a healthy social circle, and so on.

Treatment for Professionals

If you work in an environment that would be less accepting of your decision to go to rehab, you may desire to do so in privacy. Fortunately, we are willing to work with professionals or students who are concerned about their ability to disclose the state of their recovery to their superiors openly.

Most workplaces have some sort of guidelines in place that allow people who develop addictions to maintain their position as long as they indicate their commitment to getting sober.

Fortunately, options like virtual therapy and keeping patients in remote areas removed from temptation, but not too far removed from work, to proceed with both treatment and their job.

Outpatient rehab is another great choice because the hours can be tailor to your schedule. However, since professionals—especially those working in the medical industry—can often have access to very powerful drugs, outpatient rehab may not be enough. In this case it may be necessary to see what sort of assurance your employers have in place for people who are afflicted by addiction.

Other Resources

If you’re looking for some other resources in your fight against addiction, fear not. There are plenty of resources for anybody gearing towards recovery that you’ll be able to find in Orange County, CA. These include:

An Average Day at a Drug and Alcohol Rehab in Orange County, CA

Still think rehab sounds like a great idea? Great. It helps to have some idea of what you’re about to walk into, though. Here’s a quick run-through of an average day at rehab once you’ve gone through the admissions process. All programs follow a similar style of day planning, the main difference being the number of hours required to commit.

Therapy

Therapy is the one thing you can reasonably expect from just about any rehab program. The goal of therapy is ultimately to help you know yourself better. There are many avenues that a therapist or an individual can take to reach this goal, though. There are hundreds of therapeutic modalities out there to combat mental health disorders. We have employed dozens at our facility alone.

Throughout this process, we will conduct a thorough assessment & you will discover a lot about yourself. Most importantly, you’ll learn all about the different ways that your substance use is connected to your thoughts, beliefs, actions, and feelings.

Group Meetings & 12-Step Programs

Group meetings are regular occurrences at rehab centers. Most group meetings follow a similar format as the original Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous meetings, although this is not always the case.

To truly adhere to the rules of Alcoholics Anonymous, one must swear aloud their fealty to the 12-steps. The world-famous 12 steps are a series of steps that encourages addicted individuals to recognize their powerlessness over their addiction and submit to something stronger than their addiction or personal willpower in order to empower them to overcome it.

As more and more people become interested in New Age Thought and individualism, in self-discovery and ego inflation, the idea of submitting oneself to an external or higher power runs contrary to many people’s operating systems. As such, not all group meetings follow 12-Step Programs. People who disagree with the 12-Step Philosophy can find solace in groups like S.M.A.R.T. Recovery.

In either case, the purpose of a group meeting is to help connect individuals with other people who are on a similar path. You can learn a lot from others who have been in your shoes, and you may pick up some helpful anecdotal evidence that you might not otherwise learn.

Adventure (Therapy)

Although technically a form of therapy, our Adventure Therapy program deserves to be discussed separately due to its unique nature & outdoor recreation. Adventure Therapy involves taking patients out of their comfort zone and into the real world to participate in engaging, active, and otherwise risky activities with the proper supervision, guidance, and information.

Getting to go on adventures helps to get your adrenaline pumping, helps you form new memories, allows you to feel—something which is often impossible for months after recovery when people aren’t presented with the opportunity to do something exciting.

Adventure Therapy also allows you to build self-confidence as well as build trust in your peers and your supervisors.

Holistic Treatments

There are all sorts of holistic treatments and lifestyle changes that will be encouraged during your time here. Ultimately it is the changes that you make in your lifestyle that will prevent you from using drugs or alcohol again. Holistic treatments acknowledge that the mind, body and spirit are all equally important components of this unique being. By addressing them all and attempting to find unity between them, greater stability is achieved.

Some examples of holistic treatments employed during addiction rehab include:

  • Yoga
  • Massage
  • Meditation
  • Acupuncture
  • Nutritional therapy
  • Biofeedback
  • Energy work
