ITV soaps Emmerdale and Coronation Street won’t air in their usual slots on Friday night. Instead, the broadcaster will be airing the latest UEFA Euro 2024 match instead.
In a schedule shake-up, viewers watch the Group A match live from Munich Football Arena. During the game, football fans will see Germany, who are one of the favourite teams to win, take on Scotland
Although ITV will start airing coverage from 6:30pm, the match itself won't start until later on with an 8pm kick off. Presenter Mark Pougatch will be covering the game along with analysis from Graeme Souness, Roy Keane, Ian Wright and Laura Woods.
Connie McLaughlin will be reporting on the match while Sam Matterface and Ally McCoist will provide commentary. Germany was automatically qualified and are hopeful to secure another win for their country.
In the past, they’ve won the World Cup four times and the European Championship three times. Meanwhile, Scotland are yet to win a Euro tournament.

The highly anticipated game clashes with both Emmerdale and Coronation Street’s usual air time, hence them being taken off air on Friday evening.
Usually, Emmerdale airs half an hour episodes throughout the week with an hour-long instalment shown on Thursdays.
Coronation Street on the other hand, airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for an hour at 8pm.
Although ITV has yet to address the schedule change, according to the TV guide Coronation Street will air next Tuesday (June 17) with it also being pulled on Monday night.

This is the same for Emmerdale which will air for an hour on June 18.
Despite the slight alterations to the schedule, ITV fans can still expect to see a wave of drama next week.
In Coronation Street, things seem to be ramping up between Toyah Battersby (played by Georgia Taylor) and her sister’s partner Nick Tilsley (Ben Price).
On the day of her baby’s funeral, she seeks solace in Nick's arms following Leanne Battersby’s (Jane Danson) betrayal. Meanwhile, Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) insults Summer Spellmen’s (Harriet Bibby) boyfriend following her return from America.
